The Experience Virtual Reality · Part 2 of 2

Immersive Iraq Rescue Process Simulation

We rebuilt the ride out — the camp, the search, the choice to help — in volumetric virtual reality, so anyone can travel to Iraq and stand inside the story.

Nova Media / Unreal Engine 5 / Volumetric Live Action

Not a re-enactment — a place. You travel to Iraq. You meet three Yazidi children who escaped ISIS. You learn their plan to find their missing family — and you help them succeed.

What follows are frames from that world. It was made to do one thing witnessing alone can't: turn distance into presence, and presence into hope.

I · The mission
In-game shop with a cart, supply shelves, a story-and-side-quest board, and a car outside
Coins, supplies, story and side quests — the real logistics of a rescue, made playable
A VHS tape and a handwritten note beside a child's drawn face

"Maybe if my mom sees my video, she will have the courage to return."

A tape left behind · found inside the house
II · Qadia — where they live now

Thousands of tents on the plain below Sinjar Mountain. Hover a frame to step closer.

Aerial view of the Qadia displacement camp, rows of tents in the desert
01
Thousands of tents on the plain below Sinjar Mountain
Camp lanes with laundry lines strung between tents
02
Ordinary life, held together with rope and cloth
The camp at night, a fire burning under a field of stars
03
Nightfall — one fire, and a sky that doesn't forget
III · Signs of return
A worn sacred book and a candle beside a map marking the route to Qadia camp at sunrise
Faith and a route home — the road from Mosul to Qadia, drawn in blue
An altar at dusk with a peacock nearby, the sacred bird of the Yazidi faith
The peacock — Tawûsî Melek, sacred in Yazidi faith
A carved Level 2 marker beside a field of red poppies and floating lights
Poppies and fireflies mark the way forward
IV · Mediha's screen
A cinema inside the game showing Mediha holding a camera to her own face, the title MEDIHA below
She turned the camera on herself — the film, waiting at the center of the world we built
The film’s festival record

V · The people who built it
A production office with a wall of team portraits, the Iraqi and Kurdistan flags, and maps
The crew wall — the credits are a room you can stand in
A production desk with maps of Iraq and Syria and the Kurdistan flag on the wall
Where the maps were read and the plan was made
